Lorcet is a brand-name painkiller. It goes by several other names including Lortab, Norco, Hycet, and Xodol.
Made primarily from hydrocodone, this drug belongs to the opioid class. While it’s not as well-known as other narcotics, the drug is a lot like OxyContin, fentanyl, and Vicodin. And, it has very similar effects to heroin.
This drug is usually prescribed to treat chronic and acute pain. It’s given to people who’ve suffered an injury or recently underwent surgery. But, it’s also very addictive. Many users become dependent on it, especially if they use their prescription irresponsibly.
Hydrocodone addiction is a deadly disease. Last year, this and other opioids killed more than 17,000 Americans.
So, if you or a family member is addicted to Lorcet, it’s important to get help. There are a ton of detox and rehab resources out there that can help you get this drug out of your system.
Is your Lorcet habit becoming a problem? Take our free online assessment to find out if you show signs of addiction:
Detox is the first step in any recovery program. In order to get sober, you have to start by physically flushing the drug out of your system.
This process isn’t always comfortable. Lorcet is a very addictive drug. Once the body becomes dependent on it, addicts can have a hard time detoxing. They experience many opiate withdrawal symptoms that make it hard to quit.
A professional detox program can help addicts through the process. These facilities are staffed with professional doctors who understand the in’s and out’s of addiction. They administer medications to manage withdrawal. They also ensure that the patient is properly hydrated, which is very important for a successful detox.
Some people try to detox from Lorcet at home by themselves. This is not recommended. Addicts who try to quit cold turkey are at a high risk of relapse. And, severe addicts can die from opiate withdrawal if the process is not managed properly. Instead, recovering addicts should always seek professional help before they try to quit.
Withdrawing from Lorcet is not always easy. Addicts usually experience at least a few of these withdrawal symptoms:
While detox doesn’t eliminate these symptoms, it does soften them. This makes it easier for the addict to withdraw comfortably.

Lorcet detox is like a mixture between a hospital visit and a spiritual retreat. Addicts check into a medical detox facility and live there for several days while they get clean. These facilities are usually very cozy and accommodating.
When the addict checks in, they meet with a doctor and some addiction specialists. These professionals spend a day interviewing the addict about their habit. They use this information to develop a customized detox plan for that person.
Some addicts are required to taper off the drug over a week or so. Other people are able to quit all at once. Some people need medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and others can detox without meds. Ultimately, a person’s detox plan depends on their physical health, mental wellness, and the nature of their drug habit.
Oftentimes, addicts move directly from their detox program to a Lorcet rehab program once they’re clean.
How long is hydrocodone detox? How long does it take to get Lorcet or Lortab out of your system?
Unfortunately, there’s no easy answer to this question. Every addict is different. Some people are able to detox in three days while others experience withdrawal symptoms for more than a week.
Under normal circumstances (good health, no complications), the withdrawal timeline goes as follows:
First 48 hours: Withdrawal symptoms appear during the first few hours. After an addict stops using, their body starts to crave the drug almost immediately. This may generate anxiety, nausea, and even vomiting or diarrhea. They may also experience insomnia.
Day 3-4: Symptoms grow worse over the next few days. When the body recognizes that it’s no longer receiving a supply of opioids, it starts to flush the drug out. Typically, the flushing process takes the form of vomit, diarrhea, and profuse sweating. These symptoms are uncomfortable. But, they’re a sign that the body is expelling the toxins.
Day 5 and beyond: Normally, withdrawal symptoms “peak” by the end of the week. This is the worst that they get. After that, they begin to decrease in severity. However, cravings and slight anxiety may continue after the first week.
There are a number of factors that determine how long it takes someone to get Lorcet out of their system.
These factors include:
Physical health: An addict’s health plays a key role in their detox. The liver, in particular, is very important. Because the liver is responsible for opioid metabolism, addicts need to have a healthy liver to detox quickly. If their liver is healthy, they can flush out the drugs rapidly. If it’s not healthy, their body must work harder to expel the chemicals. In that case, detox lasts a little longer and withdrawal symptoms may be more severe.
Age: Unfortunately, aging tends to have negative effects on the liver. The liver gets weaker over time. Therefore, it’s not able to process opioids as quickly. So, older folks usually have a harder time with detox. This is especially the case if a person has been addicted to Lorcet for a while.
Severity of addiction: The withdrawal timeline is longer for people who abused heavy amounts of hydrocodone. It’s also longer for people who abused hydrocodone for many years. Those who only maintained an addiction for a few months can usually detox within a week. Those who maintained an addiction for longer than a decade may have a harder time getting off the drug.
Other addictions: Additional drugs also affect the withdrawal timeline. If an addict abused Lorcet while also drinking heavily, they may not be able to detox rapidly. Alcoholism and drug abuse, after all, take a serious toll on the liver. So, their liver may not be in the right shape to process opioids. They may require medication and special treatments to get the drug out of their system.
If you’re considering opioid detox treatment, you probably have some questions. In this section, we’ll answer some of the most common questions we get from potential clients.
Detox is different for everyone. Some people take a few days to withdraw from Lorcet. Others are in detox for longer than a week. For a more complete answer, take a look at the “Withdrawal Timeline” section above.
In most cases, patients are free to leave whenever they want. The goal of detox is to help addicts get sober, not to punish them. It helps to think of your program like a retreat, not jail.
There are some exceptions, of course. Addicts who are sentenced to court-mandated detox must complete their program. While the program won’t prevent them from leaving, they are required to notify the court if the patient leaves.
Some people are able to use natural techniques to get clean. However, this doesn’t work for most people. Oftentimes, those who try to detox naturally are unsuccessful.
There’s a variety of Lorcet detox pills and drink products out there that claim to help you get clean. These products are unregulated by the FDA and won’t help you overcome your addiction. Unfortunately, there’s no easy fix for addiction. Professional treatment is always the best and safest option.
Expectant mothers should detox to ensure the safety of their baby. However, they should never attempt to do it without medical help.
Detoxing while pregnant can be dangerous. The body’s adjustment process can have dire effects on a woman’s pregnancy. Addicted pregnant women should speak to a doctor before they attempt to quit using drugs.
Hydrocodone detox is the process that helps you get the drug out of your system. After you finish withdrawing, your blood and urine won’t show any signs of the drug. If you are tested using either of these methods, it’s likely that you’ll pass.
Unfortunately, you may not be able to pass a hair test for several months. Drugs like Lorcet stay in the hair for a while, so you’ll have to wait a bit before your hair is drug-free.

After detox, many people attend a drug rehab program. These programs help them to transition back into a normal life.
After all, detox is only half the battle. Even if an addict gets the drug out of their system, they still have to overcome the mental and emotional aspects of addiction. If they don’t treat the psychological side of their addiction, there’s a higher chance that they’ll eventually relapse.
Rehab treats Lorcet addiction through therapy and counseling. Addicts meet with mental health professionals who help them to confront the reasons why they abuse drugs in the first place. These programs teach addicts how to manage stress and avoid relapse.
Ultimately, a good rehab program helps addicts to avoid falling back into the cycle of addiction.
All rehab programs are different. They each have their own philosophy and approach treatment in different ways. Some facilities promote medicated treatment while others value holistic treatment methods.
The best rehab programs use a mixture of different treatment methods. In a strong rehab program, you’ll find a range of treatment options like:
Individual Therapy: Lorcet addicts benefit from one-on-one meetings with therapists. These meetings help the addict to understand why they tend to abuse drugs. These meetings may help the addict overcome past trauma that drives their drug use. And, therapists help patients to plan for their future.
Group therapy: Group meetings allow patients to meet and connect with other recovering addicts. They open up about their feelings and learn how to be honest about their emotions. Oftentimes, rehab programs bring in alumni to show addicts the possibility of recovery.
Specialized therapy options: There are many forms of specialized therapy treatment. Many of these techniques are helpful in treating addiction. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), for example, is very helpful in for treating substance use disorders. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy helps many people, as well. Strong rehab programs offer treatment services such as these.
Stress management courses: Research shows that stress increases the risk of relapse. In order for a Lorcet addict to stay clean after rehab, they must learn to properly manage stress. The best rehab programs are those that teach patients how to cope with stressful situations without turning back toward drug use.
Exercise training: Physical training doesn’t cure addiction. But, it helps addicts to overcome many barriers in recovery. Not only does it give them challenges to focus on, but it also releases a natural supply of dopamine in their brain. Lorcet addiction is essentially a dopamine addiction. So, helps to provide the dopamine rush that the addict craves.
Nutritional counseling: A good diet is important, especially for newly recovered addicts. Many drug addicts deprive themselves of essential resources. And, the detox process flushes a lot of vitamins and minerals out of the body. Good rehab programs offer diet counseling to help newly sober addicts get their body and brain back to a healthy state.
There are currently around 14,000 addiction treatment programs in America. This means that addicts have a lot of options when it comes to detox and rehab programs.
So, how is an addict supposed to choose? How does someone find the best rehab program for them?
Well, there are a number of things that people should consider. Below, we’ll describe some of the things that people should think about when choosing a rehab facility.
There are a few different types of rehab programs:
Inpatient rehab program: These are residential programs that provide housing. A hydrocodone addict “checks in” and lives at this facility for several weeks. They meet with therapists, counselors, and doctors during the day. At night, they relax, read, and hang out with other patients. These programs work well for people who don’t trust themselves to avoid relapsing outside a treatment facility.
Outpatient rehab program: Outpatient programs are non-residential. They don’t house patients. Instead, patients attend treatment during the day and return home at night. Outpatient rehab occurs a few days each week for several weeks. These programs work well for people who want to attend rehab while holding down a job or attending school.
Intensive outpatient: This type of rehab blends the benefits of inpatient and outpatient programs. While IOPs are non-residential, they involve intensive treatment. IOP patients attend 20-40 hours of treatment every week. Typically, they report to the rehab facility every day and return home at the end of each day.
Each type works better for different people. Some people find that intensive outpatient addiction treatment is the best option for them. Others prefer another type of program.
Addicts should carefully consider whether inpatient or outpatient better suits their needs.
It might seem like the obvious decision to get clean in your hometown. However, there are several downsides to this.
For example, it’s very difficult to avoid relapsing when you attend rehab at home. Old drug buddies and dealers are still around. If you happen to bump into them, you could spiral right back into the addiction cycle.
By leaving home, however, you’re able to distance yourself from old triggers. This allows you to focus on getting clean and return home afterward. For many people, this is the best way to get sober.
Of course, many people don’t have the funds to leave their home city. That’s a reasonable argument. But, those who can afford a plane ticket might want to head out of town until they’ve beat their Lorcet addiction.
Some people are addicted to multiple drugs. Someone might be addicted to hydrocodone and alcohol, for example. In that case, they’ll need a facility that treats both conditions.
Some rehab centers specialize in alcoholism. Other programs are drug-specific. So, it’s important to find a rehab program that is capable of providing the treatment you need. If you’re checking into a Lorcet rehab program, make sure that they are willing to treat any other addictions you might have.
Co-occurring disorders happen when someone suffers from a mental illness and addiction at the same time. This condition is sometimes referred to as a dual diagnosis or comorbidity.
Some of the most common co-occurring disorders involve a substance abuse disorder mixed with:
When someone suffers from a co-occurring disorder, they require special treatment. They not only need treatment for their addiction but for their mental state, as well.
As you might imagine, treatment can be complicated. After all, mental illnesses usually require medication. But when someone has addictive tendencies, they can easily abuse their medication.
So, those who suffer from comorbidity must receive professional treatment. Addicts should seek help from a co-occurring disorder rehab center if they have this type of condition.
Lorcet addiction affects all kinds of people. It may seem surprising but lawyers and surgeons are just as prone to opioid addiction as anyone else.
Sometimes, wealthy folks and executives expect different things from rehab. They may want access to high-class amenities or luxury facilities. If they can’t afford to miss work, they may want a rehab program that allows them to work while they get treatment.
Fortunately, there are many rehab programs for executives. These programs offer upscale amenities and flexibility to accommodate the needs of these people.
Opioid addiction is a bad problem among military members. This is mostly because troops are prescribed opioids at much higher rates.
According to an article published in MilitaryTimes, 1 in 4 military members takes Lorcet or another opiate.
Some veterans require specialized addiction treatment. They may have PTSD or another mental illness in conjunction with their substance abuse disorder. They may also have a busy schedule or obligations to meet.
Luckily, there are a number of rehab programs for military members and veterans. These programs accommodate the unique needs of service members and their families.

There are many misconceptions about drug rehab. One of the biggest misconceptions is that rehab doesn’t work. This simply isn’t true. Drug and alcohol rehab is a valuable resource that assists many people in their recovery journey.
Each year, drug addiction treatment programs around the country help hundreds of thousands of addicts get sober. According to a recent article published in the Open Journal of Psychiatry, 33% of everyone who attends a rehab program is able to stay clean for at least one year afterward.
This statistic seems low at first. However, it’s important to keep in mind that roughly 2.5 million people attend rehab every year. So, more than 800,000 patients are able to get sober (and stay that way for 12 months) annually.
That’s great news for those of us who love watching people turn their lives around!
Are you ready to quit Lorcet? Our drug rehab program can help you to get back to a normal, healthy life!
If you’re thinking about addiction treatment, you probably have a lot of questions. We have answers.
Below, you’ll find the answer to some of the most common inquiries we get from our clients.
Confidentiality is important to us. Northpoint Washington does not share the names of patients without their permission. If you are treated for Lorcet addiction in our facility, your identity is safe.
A lot of people worry about losing their job for seeking addiction treatment. But, this is not something to worry about. The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits employers from firing workers for getting addiction help.
However, this only applies if the addict proactively seeks treatment. If they go to rehab after failing a drug test at work, they aren’t protected by the ACA.
Every rehab program is different. The timeline depends on the addict’s needs. Typically, patients enroll in a 28-day stay in the program. However, they are free to re-enroll if they feel that they need more help.
You don’t have to bring much to rehab. There’s no need to bring fancy clothes or electronics. In fact, we find that it’s easier to focus if you bring very little.
Here are the things you should pack for inpatient rehab:
The exact cost depends on a variety of different factors. See the “How Much Does Addiction Treatment Cost?” section below.
Yes. Most insurance providers cover the cost of Lorcet rehab. See the “How Much Does Addiction Treatment Cost?” section below.
Some people relapse at some point after rehab. This is okay. While it’s not the best-case scenario, there’s still hope.
We like to think of relapse as part of the recovery process. As long as the addict survives and recognizes that they need help. they can still get back on the road to recovery. Northpoint Washington is always happy to help you come back from a relapse.
If you’re thinking about Lorcet rehab, you’re probably wondering about money. How much does it cost? What’s the bill look like?
In truth, it varies. Some people pay a lot of money for rehab treatment. But, most people are able to get free or low-cost rehab services.
Northpoint Washington has a network of insurance providers that cover rehab treatment at our facility. People who subscribe to these insurance plans are entitled to affordable services. If your insurance provider is in the Northpoint network, you may be able to attend rehab for free or very little money.
For the non-insured, we offer payment plans. These plans help hydrocodone addicts to get treatment when they need it. Then, they’re able to pay us back over time.
No one should ever let finances prolong their addiction. If you are addicted to Lorcet, get help as soon as possible. You can figure out how to pay for it later on.
Around the country, there are a handful of free addiction treatment programs. These facilities provide no-cost detox and rehab service. They mostly operate out of churches, public hospitals, and community centers.
These programs offer a commendable service. By providing free treatment, they help their community members get off drugs. However, they aren’t right for everyone.
Oftentimes, free treatment programs have very long waiting lists. Addicts may have to prolong treatment for several months before it’s their turn. This is obviously not recommended, as the addict could accidentally overdose during that time.
And, these programs don’t always provide comprehensive treatment. Those who attend a professional rehab program usually have access to better services. So, we always recommend that addicts think twice before attending a free detox or rehab program.
Hydrocodone is a dangerous and potentially deadly drug. It carries all kinds of health risks and side effects. When abused, this rug can have a severe impact on a person’s personal, professional, and financial well-being.
