Energy you need to deal with an addict can siphon away what you need to deal with your own problems, and lead to apathy or resentment. As such, it is of vital importance to find help before things become too advanced.
Nar Anon can give you this help, in a way that ensures there is no shame or apprehension. It can help just to listen to other people that feel the same way you do, and hear how they surmounted an obstacle that you are currently plagued with. Nar Anon requires nothing to attend their meetings, just that you have a sincere desire to improve how your life is lived loving an addict.

Alateen takes the format found in Al-Anon, and tailors it to help with the unique challenge teens and young adults face when dealing with an alcoholic. No matter what you have to say, no one is going to judge you at an Alateen meeting.
